Rachel Turns 1 Month Old

DSC_8493.jpg

Brian Here,

I'm sure Rebekah will be posting about Rachel turning a month old but I figure I will throw in my feelings as well. It's hard to believe it's been a whole month. The time seems to fly by since taking care of her seems to keep me distracted from the clock. Rachel is maturing though and she's getting a little bit bigger. It's nice because she does not feel so fragile anymore and she is starting to look around at things which is way more fun than her just sleeping all the time. She still likes to be held a lot which is cool because I still like holding her a lot. Hopefully I will get a little tired of holding her by the time she starts crawling and stuff so I won't feel like I'm missing out. Being a dad is way better than I expected it would be. So far it hasn't been as great of a financial strain on us as I had worried, and changing diapers and holding her all the time don't seem to be as much work as I thought they would be. And the best part is that she's nice and cuddly. She also likes getting fed by her daddy in the middle of the night.

  1. This is Rebekah, not Brian, and rather than make another blog post I will just write a comment. It is amazing to think Rachel is already a month old. She is such a blessing and truly a joy to have as part of our family. Already in her few short weeks with us she has changed so much. She is so much more alert and finds great joy in looking at the world around her. Rachel loves to look at faces and beginning to track faces and toys. She has a beautiful smile that may at this point still be related to gas, but we like to think she is smiling at us. I love listening to her happy baby noises as she eats. Sometimes she talks to much and breathes in the milk and then we talk about how we don't talk with our mouths full. Everyday she becomes more vocal with coos and grunts. Thank you God for our little girl.
